A properly adjusted harness should feel secure and comfortable while allowing your dog to move freely.
1. Adjust the neck strap
Loosen the neck strap so the harness sits slightly further back on your dog.
The front buckle should not be touching or sitting directly against your dog’s neck.
📷 See the photo below for the correct position.

2. Adjust the belly strap
Adjust the straps so the harness sits comfortably and securely around your dog.
You should be able to fit two fingers between the harness and your dog.
3. Check the chest fit
Make sure the harness isn't too loose around the chest.
If the harness is moving around or slipping, try tightening the adjustment straps.
4. Do a final check
Before your walk, make sure:
- The harness is sitting correctly.
- The neck strap isn't too tight.
- The front buckle isn't touching your dog's front legs.
- You can fit two fingers comfortably between the harness and your dog.
- The harness feels secure without restricting movement.

🐕 Is Your Dog Pulling on the Leash?
If you're having trouble with pulling, you can also try our two-leash training technique using the DFCO Bungee Leash.
Two-Leash Training
You'll need:
- Your DFCO Bungee Leash
- Another leash
How it works:
- Attach one leash to the back D-ring.
- Attach the second leash to the No-Pull Front D-ring.
- Walk your dog using both leashes.
- Practice this consistently for a few days.
- As your dog becomes more comfortable and responds better to the training, you can eventually let go of the leash attached to the back D-ring.
The process is simple, but consistency is key. With regular practice, you should start to notice a positive change in your dog's walking behaviour. 😊
